But Covington disclosed the reason in a later interview—campaigning for Donald Trump. The 36-year-old said, “This wasn’t a full training camp—I was campaigning for Trump, getting him ready. Interestingly, the UFC heavyweight champion referenced how Covington witnessed his win over Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. This sarcastic dig resonated with the MMA fans, too. They then turned to the comment section of the post and shared their candid opinion.

Someone blasted Jones for his fight with Miocic. They declared, “His loss was better than your win, you ducked real comp ().”
