Since ramming his golf buddy against the wall at Pocono, Denny Hamlin seems to have embraced the villain arc. And he is just not ready to let go. When it comes to winning races, this man does not care what the fans think. When the audience booed him after his 7th Pocono win, Denny Hamlin remained as unscathed as ever.
And after winning the Xfinity Series race at Darlington, it is most unlikely for anyone to usurp his throne in the villain kingdom. So much so, that fans on the internet are comparing him to Kyle Busch for his ‘i-don’t-care’ attitude.
Amidst questions regarding his future with Joe Gibbs, Denny Hamlin revealed his true colors
Denny Hamlin has been driving the number 11 Toyota for over a decade with the JGR team. During his time with the team, he achieved his 50th win and also smashed Jeff Gordon‘s record for most wins at Pocono. Besides that, he also gave Toyota their 600th Cup Series win. Needless to say, Denny Hamlin is a stalwart behind the JGR garage.
However, the contract between Hamlin, the driver, and Joe Gibbs, the owner, is up. With that, the manufacturing deal for 23XI with the Fords and the alliance contract of Hamlin’s team with Joe Gibbs is also on the way to termination by the end of this season. Amidst so many boxes, Denny Hamlin might find it difficult to sort his priorities and tick them.
The entire NASCAR community knows Joe Gibbs to be extremely particular about the functioning of his cup team. He prefers decisions like these to be taken way ahead of time. However, Denny Hamlin is a driver that the 82-year-old team owner cannot just defenestrate.
And Denny Hamlin just proved why. NASCAR allowed the 23XI owner to participate in just one Xfinity Series race each year, and he aced it. The Toyota Camry pilot overtook Austin Hill on the final overtime restart and took home his 6th Xfinity Series win at Darlington Raceway on Saturday.
Moments after the race, a reporter walked up to Denny Hamlin who was smirking at the mixed reactions of the crowd, some of whom were booing and the others, cheering. Denny Hamlin revealed how he felt about this saying, “Just proud to do this…appreciate everyone and Joe Gibbs Racing for the opportunity to let me come do one Xfinity race per year. It’s great to have a win.”
While talking about how difficult it was for him to win at an Xfinity race, the #11 Cup driver admitted, “It really took a while, I really needed some long runs but I really didn’t want to show everything we had until the very end of the race. We did a very good job of maintaining what we had.”
On the tracks, Denny Hamlin is a name on its own. But outside the tracks, he is even more of a savage. In his recent social media post, he gave a shout-out to his fans, to which the fans had all sorts of things to say.
Fans went berserk with Denny Hamlin’s recent Tweet
In a post, Denny uploaded pictures of the audience showing him the expletive finger and wrote, “Booooooooooooooooooo”
However, he did not miss the fans cheering for him either. Looks like the NASCAR sensation cares for his fans more than he cares for his haters.
Hamlin wrote, “To the 11 fans, I see you too 🫶”

Well, Denny Hamlin being the new villain and becoming another Kyle Busch is okay, but do we need to mention what happened between Busch and Joe Gibbs? A little speculation doesn’t hurt, does it?
This man is TRULY living up to the villain role and embracing it, and I love it.

A Denny Hamlin fan joked that even though countless people hate him, they cannot stop talking about him.
Denny I believe this is called living rent free in people’s minds lol.

Interestingly, Denny Hamlin is changing the lookout of his fans with each passing day. Someone said, “You redeemed yourself here. Glad to see you recognizing the supporters, not just the haters. -From a hater who is mad because he’s started liking you since the podcast.”
Another one concurred with that saying, “I am slowly becoming an 11 fan”
