Cody Rhodes made his return to WWE with the sole purpose of finishing his story. After defeating Seth Rollins in their trilogy match, Rhodes was sidelined for months due to a grave injury. However, he made his fairy-tale return in the Royal Rumble match and emerged victorious. But what happened at WrestleMania 39 left the fans devastated. A very young fan girl of Cody Rhodes even wrote a letter to Triple H expressing her disappointment.
Cody Rhodes’ loss at WrestleMania broke many hearts. At one point, The American Nightmare had Roman Reigns beat but the interference from Solo Sikoa allowed The Tribal Chief to capitalize and retain his title. As Roman Reigns basked in his glory after his win, the air of melancholy surrounded Cody Rhodes and his fans.

There’s no denying that Cody Rhodes is the ultimate babyface in WWE today. The American Nightmare has a wide range of fans, from the young to the old. But a young fan girl took Rhodes’ earth-shattering defeat to the heart and reached out to WWE to express herself.
Taking to Twitter, Cody Rhodes tweeted- “I see her” to the girl’s parent who wrote to Cody Rhodes explaining how his loss to Roman Reigns left the young fan “ugly crying”. The parent also revealed that after his the child was so upset that she made sure that her letter was “snail-mailed” to the WWE Headquarters. In the letter addressed to Triple H, the little one pointed out that Roman Reigns cheated “7 times” during the match.
In addition, she told her parent to see to it that her “newest artwork” was shown to Cody Rhodes. She drew Cody Rhodes’ trademark skull inside a heart. This just goes how important it was for Rhodes to finish the story. Not just for him but also for his fans.

Unfortunately, the 37-year-old star did not get a chance at redemption due to Brock Lesnar’s attack on him on RAW after WrestleMania. After WrestleMania 39, fans were knocked sideways again when The Beast Incarnate victimized Cody Rhodes.

A week ago, Cody Rhodes made an appearance on The Miz TV, only to be interrupted by Dominik and Rhea Ripley. During the promo, Dominik ruffled Cody Rhodes’ feathers by calling him a “bird with a broken wing”. In response, Rhodes called Dominik his father, Rey Mysterio’s mistake. The comment struck a nerve with Dom Dom.
While Rhodes was distracted by The Miz, Dominik crept up from behind and delivered a hard slap to Cody Rhodes. Rhea Ripley’s protection kept Rhodes from retaliating against the slap.
On the latest edition of SmackDown, Cody Rhodes challenged the 26-year-old star to a match at Money in the Bank. While Dominik was hesitant, Rhea Ripley accepted the challenge for him. The next moment, another distraction from The Miz allowed Dominik to strike Rhodes from behind once again.
There won’t be any running at the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. However, Dominik could hold an advantage with his “Mami” in his corner.
